Licensed T'ai Chi Fit™ Instructor Certificate.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Today more than ever before, more and more health, wellness and fitness professionals are turning their attention to holistic mind and body exercises.

Some seek to end the high impact routines and bone jarring exertions of yesterday in favour of more relaxing and graceful exercises. But more importantly health, wellness and fitness professionals realise the need to provide specific and suitable classes for older adults. The number of people over 60 is set to double over the next 30 years and in the UK this age range of seniors already outnumbers children for the first time ever.

T'ai Chi Fit™ is the perfect exercise for the independent older adult and provides exercise, movement, strength and balance to help prevent falls and injury, as well as promote a heathly lifestyle in later life.

What is T'ai Chi Fit™?

T'ai Chi Fit™ is based on the ancient form of  T'ai Chi, which is one of the most beneficial forms of exercise. T'ai Chi is practiced by more people on Earth than any other single form of holistic (mind & body) exercise. An ancient Chinese practice, it provides a complete form of total mind and body conditioning.

By maintaining one's health through the constant practice of the fundamental exercises, the old masters remained alert and strong in body, mind and spirit throughout their lives

T'ai Chi has become a highly popular form of holistic exercise throughout the world though there are many different ‘styles' and form sequences.

It has survived through thousands of years of history as a perfect exercise system, testament to its' many benefits to health and its' natural qualities of promoting tranquillity and harmony.

T'ai Chi practice encompasses one of Chinas' oldest philosophies, Taoism. Taoists observe that we are all part of nature. Understanding this helps us to realise our highest potential; living in harmony with the natural energies that surround us.

T'ai Chi Fit™ uses elements of T'ai Chi practice combined with modern techniques to open the channels of energy within the body and promotes vitality and inner health, cleansing the body of toxins and balancing the emotions through breathing exercises with sitting, standing and moving meditations. It is simple to understand and to teach to others and perfect for later life training and adaptable for all abilities.

Reduces The Risk of Falls and Injury

Regular practice automatically improves posture, helping to prevent the problems associated with back pain, while natural balance is improved.

T'ai Chi Fit™ is very popular with all ages but especially for seniors, due to its' slow, relaxed performance. Moving in harmony with gravity improves muscle coordination and strength is developed without stressing the body.

This naturally reduces physical wear and tear and offers benefits to all who wish to maintain and improve mind and body health.

T'ai Chi can be traditionally slower with emphasis on perfecting each movement taking a long time to learn but T'ai Chi Fit™ created by Ian Fox is simple and easy to understand.

T'ai Chi Fit™ is a simple and yet dynamic and innovative mind/body fitness concept based on the timeless practice of T'ai Chi, which is fused with the latest exercise techniques to stimulate the mind and body.

It's a sequence of choreographed rhythmic and synchronised movements taken from many styles of T'ai Chi, which are then performed in a flowing motion to powerful music.

Traditionally T'ai Chi formed a component of Chinese medicine and it is widely appreciated to increase strength and promote a deep feeling of calm and harmony by improving the flow of internal energy (or qi) throughout the body.

Reduces Stress, Promotes Calmness

It is the calming, meditative aspect of T'ai Chi Fit™ that makes it particularly useful for reducing stress and anxiety. People who practice T'ai Chi Fit™ regularly state it improves their sense of well-being.

As an exercise form, T'ai Chi Fit™ benefits the entire body, increasing muscle strength and enhancing balance and flexibility.

People who practice T'ai Chi Fit™ are also said to exploit the strength of yin (the earth) and the energy of yang (heavens) through exercises designed to express these forces in balanced and harmonious form.
